About this deal

Of all 49 patients, 22.5% had stabilized cancer and 12.3% were stable for longer than six months. One patient with metastasized prostate cancer had 50% fewer prostate-specific antigen (PSA) in his system after 16 weeks on modified citrus pectin. PSA levels may indicate the likelihood of prostate cancer progression [ 8]. PectaSol® Metal Detox provides clinically proven, natural detoxification to helplower body burden of heavy metals and environmental toxins such as radioactive particles. PectaSol® Metal Detox combines the detoxification properties of PectaSol-C® Modified Citrus Pectin and Algimate®, modified alginates purified from kelp seaweed, to bind to heavy metals in the digestive and circulation systems without disrupting essential mineral balance, for safe elimination.* Hopefully, this dietary supplement will ultimately be one that lives up to its promise. In the meantime, we will continue to keep an eye on all this has to offer. PectaSol® Metal Detox has been clinically studied to support safe heavy metal toxin and radioactive particle removal from the body, and is formulated to provide additional support to prevent toxin reabsorption and redistribution through the gut wall.*

Galectin-3 is a carbohydrate-binding protein made in the body anda key cancer marker. It is known to be involved in cancer parthenogenesis. It is also atherapeutic target for drugs and has been extensively researched for its role in promoting cancer and chronic disease. Consult your healthcare professional prior to use if you have or suspect a medical condition, are taking any medications, or are nursing, pregnant or considering pregnancy. Take at least 30 minutes away from other supplements or drugs. In a 2011 study, MCP was shown to be a potent immune system booster. It had a powerful effect boosting B-lymphocytes, and also the cytoxic effects of T-lymphocytes and Natural Killer (NK) cells against cancer. MCP actually produced a dramatic 10-fold increase in NK cell activity (7) . Other polysaccharides have also emerged as potential galectin inhibitors. For example, RN1 ( 20, Fig. 4), an arabinogalactan polysaccharide isolated from the flowers of the Chinese ginseng plant ( Panax notoginseng), was proposed as a GAL3 inhibitor. This compound showed antitumoural activity in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma both in vitro and in vivo 236. Other ginseng-derived pectins prevented GAL3-driven T cell apoptosis and reduced tumour growth in mouse models of sarcoma 237. Peptides and peptidomimetics

According to a fast-growing body of published data, a major target has been found. More than 8000 studies show that the carbohydrate binding protein, galectin-3 (Gal-3), serves as a primary therapeutic target for the prevention and treatment of our most critical conditions, effectively meeting this growing demand in chronic disease management. Extracellular Gal-3 acts as an adhesion surface protein, forming lattices with itself, binding glycoproteins and glycolipid membrane receptors and creating a gel-like biofilm that anchors other procancerous growth factors and inflammatory compounds within the extracellular matrix. P.P. Ruvolo, “Galectin-3 as a Guardian of the Tumor Microenvironment,” Biochim. Biophys. Acta. 1863(3), 427–437 (2016). More than 50 published clinical and preclinical studies on this form of MCP demonstrate its critical, multifaceted benefits against heart disease, cancer proliferation/metastasis, organ fibrosis and other conditions characterised by elevated Gal-3. Another study suggested that MCP made it difficult for metastatic cancer cells to join together and grow in other parts of the body. In a small human study with prostate cancer, those taking MCP showed slower growth of PSA levels (2) .

As the research on this form of MCP continues, it’s critical to note that, in the nutraceutical world, MCP is not a carefully defined term. Experts emphasise that other “modified” citrus pectins do not offer the same benefits as the only researched, clinically studied and substantiated MCP. Keating N.L., O’Malley A.J., Smith M.R. Diabetes and Cardiovascular Disease During Androgen Deprivation Therapy for Prostate Cancer. J. Clin. Oncol. 2006;24:4448–4456. doi: 10.1200/JCO.2006.06.2497.Safe heavy metal chelation: Three clinical studies highlight MCP as a safe chelator of heavy metals. MCP is shown to bind to toxic metals in the circulation, reducing blood levels and increasing the urinary excretion of lead, mercury, arsenic, cadmium and others — without disrupting essential minerals. 19–21 F. Sanchis-Gomar, et al., “Galectin-3, Osteopontin and Successful Aging,” Clin. Chem. Lab. Med. 54(5), 873–877 (2016). The original and only proven effective form of MCP is prepared with a proprietary, non-GMO enzymatic process controlled by pH and heat, which breaks the long chain molecules of the native pectin to produce the correct molecular size and structure of <13 kilodaltons and <5% esterification. Another significant study investigated the role of Gal-3 as a driver of oxidative stress in human cardiac fibroblasts, spontaneously hypertensive animal models and human aortic stenosis tissue. Results showed Gal-3 downregulates the antioxidant peroxiredoxin-4 (Prx-4) in cardiac fibroblasts, uncovering a new pathway whereby Gal-3 fuels cardiac damage. Importantly, MCP treatment restored cardiac Prx-4 and improved oxidative status. 3 Modified citrus pectin may act as a natural chelating agent, helping to remove excess heavy metals from the body. Using MCP for heavy metal detoxification is appealing due to the fact that it may have fewer side effects and be less invasive than other types of chelation therapy.

A 2015 study by Tel Aviv Medical Centre Scientists showed that oral MCP supplementation could enhance the anti-metastatic and anti-cancer effects of radiotherapy in the treatment of Androgen-Independent prostate cancer(9). PectaSol® Metal Detox is ideal for those who need comprehensive detoxification support for the safe removal of heavy metals and/or radioactive elements, including those with high body burden of lead, mercury, cadmium, arsenic, or uranium.*Ried K, Eng P, Sali A. Screening for circulating tumour cells allows early detection of cancer and monitoring of treatment effectiveness: an observational study. Asian Pac J Cancer Prev. 2017 Aug 27;18(8):2275–85. DOI: 10.22034/APJCP.2017.18.8.2275. PMID: 28843267. PMCID: PMC5697492. While research is preliminary, modified citrus pectin has the potential to offer benefits for heart disease, cancer, IBS, and even cognition. It may also act as a natural chelating agent, helping individuals to safely detoxify from heavy metals. There were also no negative side effects observed in a clinical trial involving children with lead toxicity in China. For three months, the hospitalized children between the ages of 5 and 12 were given 15 g of MCP in three divided doses a day [ 4].

GI health: This MCP is also shown to offer functional prebiotic benefits as an oligosaccharide-rich fibre. One study with the USDA and Rutgers showed that as a prebiotic fibre, MCP reduced Shiga toxin cytotoxicity from the aggressive strain of E. coli 0157:H7, which has been implicated in recent food contamination outbreaks. 22 Formulating with MCPZhao ZY, Liang L, Fan X, Yu Z, Hotchkiss AT, Wilk BJ, et al. The role of modified citrus pectin as an effective chelator of lead in children hospitalized with toxic lead levels. Altern Ther Health Med. 2008 Aug;14(4):34–8. PMID: 18616067. Published in 2006, a study demonstrated PectaSol-C MCP's ability to bind and remove toxic heavy metals from the body, without affecting essential minerals. Heavy metal removal with PectaSol-C MCP has been shown in multiple case studies to play a role in ongoing body maintenance. MCP is not alone in the botanical field at inhibiting cancer spread. You might also look at honokiol, which has been extensively studied in preclinical cell and animal models and shown to fight cancer through numerous mechanisms of action. Honokiol is derived from Magnolia officinalis bark, and is highly regarded for its anti-tumour, anti-angiogenic and antioxidant effects. It has also been shown in preclinical studies to enhance the benefits of some chemotherapies and natural agents’. One promising study of 49 patients with advanced solid tumors found that MCP stabilized cancer progression and improved quality of life with no severe side effects [ 8]. Those in the pilot study were given MCP three times a day for two months. With clinical studies in the areas of CVD and other indications under way at prominent research institutes, this form of MCP is steadily earning recognition as a well-substantiated adjunct therapy offering unique mechanisms that are critical in the treatment of chronic disease.
