About this deal

Par 4’s assume the golfer will hit the ball onto the putting green in two shots and putt the ball into the hole in two additional strokes. Lastly, par 5’s assume the golfer will hit the ball onto the green in three shots and require two additional putts to get the ball into the hole.

Either way, as the name implies, in Bogey or Bust the object of the game is making no worse than a bogey on each hole. Once you make a double bogey or worse, you've busted out of the game. (Low handicappers can play the same game using par, rather than bogey, as the highest allowable score. In that case, the game is called Par or Out.) Generating opportunities for Cara Koenen, Steph Wood and Reilley Batcheldor has been a major headache.Note: Bogey, par and Stableford are competitions played under the stroke play format, with each player competing against a fixed score for each hole. The player with the most “wins” during the competition is the winner, as in match play. When playing from off the green, a player shouts 'Flap' between hitting the ball and its first bounce. The player then has to hole out with the next shot to gain a unit. Failure to do so loses a unit. If a player calls a flap, opponents may shot 'double' before the ball makes its first bounce to double the win or loss. Portuguese Caddy Load management questions will also be raised for Lightning captain Steph Wood’s return against the Adelaide Thunderbirds and NSW Swift Paige Hadley who has been named to return in Helen Housby’s 100th game at home against the Magpies. Same format as greensomes, but you choose which ball to play after you and your partner have both played your second shots. American Foursomes

Ever wanted to play a shot again? Give each person a mulligan and you disregard a bad shot and play it again. Named after a member at Winged Foot who always hit a second ball off the first tee and counted it as his first. No Alibis These are: failing to hole out, failing to correct playing from outside the teeing area, failing to correct playing a wrong ball, and failing to correct a mistake of playing from a wrong place when there is a serious breach. Anything else? At a par 3 the player on the green nearest the flag after one shot has to hole out in two putts or better for an oozle and a unit. If the player fails to do this it is a foozle and is a loss of a unit. If no-one hits the green then the oozles can accumulate on subsequent par 3s. One-off oozles can also be played for gorillas who drive par 4s. Gritty Pars When you have a four arranged, someone always calls off and who wants to play strokeplay anyway? Have fun with these instead: SkinsUnless the net-bogey/1-pointer scores are entered, please demonstrate how the proper values for such qualifying. A bogey can be both a good score or a bad score depending on how the golfer got the score. Let’s look at an example of how two golfers got the same score but in completely different ways. Teams of two play their own ball and take the combined score for the team. Handicap is full difference from the lowest handicap player and then you add the nett scores for each player together to get the team score. Better-Aggregate

That’s a really fancy way of saying it’s ultimately the competition committee’s job to add up the won/lost totals. For example, if a player is given a shot on a par-4 hole, a score of 5 or lower would win the hole for them. You win and lose holes, as you would in match play, by comparing the number of strokes taken for a hole against the fixed target score set by the committee.

Players play in groups of three of four. All drive and then select the best shot and mark it. Everyone then hits the next shot form this point. Repeat procedure with each shot until you hole out. This event is played off handicap and if you do not have special tables, add all the teams member's handicaps together and divide by ten. Deduct the handicap from the final total. Bloodsome Scramble Instead of handicap strokes, each player is allocated one foot of string for every shot of his/her handicap. Each player can move the ball by measuring the distance moved and cutting that amount from the ball. You can use the string to remove your ball from hazards, get it out of a difficult lie or to hole out. If you like you can offer the option to gain one foot of string for each birdie scored. Remember to take your scissors! In scoring bogey and par competitions, any hole on which no score is recorded is considered a loss. The player loses any hole on which he breaks Rule 4 (Clubs), Rule 6-4 (Caddie) or any local rule or condition of competition that carries a maximum per-round penalty. Any player not reporting a rules violation is disqualified.
