About this deal

The monitor’s default HDR is labeled Desktop. It turns on or off depending on whether HDR is enabled in Windows 11 or the application you’re using. The G3223Q always detected an HDR signal and activated HDR automatically. I measured a maximum sustained brightness of 526 nits, which is very high. The best gaming monitors have some stunning options among them, and new technologies are shaking up the field, like the QD- OLED panel on display in Alienware’s recent AW3423DW. Unfortunately, Dell's G3223Q lags behind many of these trends, and it makes it's price tough to justify.

A few permanently bright or dark pixels are considered normal by industry standards. The exact number of pixels that are allowed varies depending on the monitor. See the Dell Monitor Quality and Pixel Policy for more details. Game-enhanced features such as Timer, Frame Rate Counter, and Dark Stabilizer in addition to enhanced gaming modes, such as First-Person Shooter (FPS), Battle Royale/Real-Time Strategy (MOBA/RTS), Role-Playing Game (RPG), SPORTS, color adjustments (custom color, warm, cool) and three additional game modes to personalize your preferences. More demanding creators will like these features, but there’s a problem. They’re tied to very specific modes. The Creator mode allows adjustment of color gamut and gamma, but not color. The Custom Color mode provides detailed color adjustment, but not gamut or gamma. There’s also limited color temperature adjustment. Removable stand and Video Electronics Standards Association (VESA) 100 mm mounting holes for flexible mounting solutions. LG 27UL650 Review – 4K IPS Monitor with FreeSync and HDR The LG 27UL650 is the next 4K monitor in line to the well-loved 27UK650 which provided accurate color and excellent… Both the G3223D and G3223Q connect with VESA 100×100 stands that allow for tilt, swivel, and height adjustment. The monitor supports AMD FreeSync Premium Pro technology to aid against tearing, as well as a console mode, which provides a 120Hz VRR. The G3223Q model is also precalibrated out-of-the-factory at ΔE ≤ 2. Unfortunately, this model doesn’t include built-in speakers, which would have extended its value per dollar further. However, you are better off using gaming headsets or desktop speakers since they will be better for immersion. It’s to have a decent set, but it’s excusable not to have them if the monitor has a lower price. Display and Performance

It is always essential to isolate the monitor while troubleshooting your computer for the following scenarios:The Dell G3223D is certified to function flawlessly with FreeSync and G-Sync to prevent tearing and stuttering. Both Nvidia and AMD have compelling 1440p cards, so it’s wise to get a monitor with VRR for both companies. Input lag sits at 4ms at 165Hz, so there is no need to worry about delays while gaming. Thoughts on the Dell G3223D The standard monitor stand is detached when the monitor is shipped from the factory. To learn more about attaching the standard monitor stand.See the Setting Up the Monitor section in the User's Guide of your Dell G3223D monitor. Its pixel response time is comparable to the best Fast-IPS monitors in the market with the same refresh rate. There is a little bit of blurring, but using the monitor’s overdrive and its Fast setting should help with that. We don’t recommend the highest level since it will add overshoot which is more noticeable than the previous issue.

Where you put your monitor is almost as important as what model you buy. The monitor should be directly in front of you, at an arm’s length away (between 20-40 inches from your eyes). The top edge of the screen at eye level when you are sitting comfortably. You may need to adjust your chair height or the height of the monitor to achieve this. It's easy to add up the numbers and come to a conclusion, but that ignores game optimizations, falling prices of other components, and the various upscaling tools players have to squeeze extra performance out of their PCs. Instead of adding up what you could spend on a gaming PC, I added up what you would spend. The Dell G3223D is a premium gaming monitor with a large 1440p IPS panel and USB-C connectivity for flexibility. It’s a formula we wish monitor brands would follow so gamers can justify upgrading since the product can be used for business or professional applications. It’s pricier than its VA counterparts, but let’s see if that extra cost merits better performance in all aspects. Dell G3223D Specifications

Dell G3223Q review: Better than the 4K competition, but far

Although the 1.4a spec is still more than enough for most people, the inclusion of DisplayPort 2.1 does give AMD an advantage this generation. No, I'm not here to sell you on 8K gaming -- in some parts of the world, 8K may not even be possible -- but for a crowd of competitive gamers and VR enthusiasts, DisplayPort 2.1 could mark a major shift.Found that there's actually a firmware update that Dell have issued recently that adds an OSD option to turn off the blue LED lighting the G3223D has enabled by default! The G3223Q model also features a maximum refresh rate of 144Hz and a 1ms G2G response time, as well as a 10-bit color depth, 600 nits of brightness, 1000:1 contrast ratio with 95%/99% DCI-P3/sRGB spectrum coverage, and VESA DisplayHDR 600 certification.
