About this deal

My only complaint is that they hurt my ears after wearing them for about half an hour, but it makes sense because the isolation factor is very good.

To make it as easy as possible for you to get the gear you want, we offer a range of instant finance options. Mid-low is quite clear, and fits well with the rest of the range, with a bass guitar driving the song, easy to pickup and listen. In addition to updating the look and padding of the headband, Sennheiser added their new logos to it. Also, the two pads flanking the cutout are larger than the old pad, and incredibly soft and squishy.

They are perfect for remote recording gigs, especially when you need to run your rig in the same room as the performance. The high attenuation of external noise (32dB) makes these particularly suitable for use in high noise environments. The isolation also comes in handy when micing up instruments for placement and finding the 'sweet spot' by listening through the mic.

Although, as they say, beauty is in the eye of the beholder, I have to admit that when I first saw these headphones, my reaction was similar to that of many people. Never felt such pleasure from listening to the music, even on decent stereo speakers and much more expensive headphones than the listed above. These headphones have the same audio properties and physical design of HD 300 PRO, however Sennheiser have added switchable ActiveGard limiting protection at 110dB SPL. When you're just seeing them in pictures or you're holding them, they don't stick out nearly as far as they do while worn.

While the Sennheiser show a more neutral sound profile, they perform more inconsistently with different people. A pair like the aforementioned Grado offers a sound signature and a wide, deep stage that makes the music feel almost palpable. The overall design of these headphones is great, allowing for twistable lobes for one-ear monitoring (such is useful in DJing) and the ability to fold into itself for better transportation. All in all, 5 star means "very good product" on this site, and this is definitely a very good product.

They also have a bulky design that will hinder your movements during more strenuous physical activity. The sweet spot of the HD 280 Pro headphones lies at around 180-700 Hz, making alto singers and strings sound phenomenally clear. The unique collapsible design, combined with swiveling ear cups, offers maximum flexibility in any application.

Though, there is a relative lack of excitement regarding sound signature compared to either pair of Sonys. They will make you sweat more than average when compared to other closed-back over-ears, and overall they're not suitable for physical activity or to use in hot environments unless you take multiple breaks.
