We review FEW Spirits All Secrets Known Bourbon, a re-release of a tequila barrel finished bourbon developed in partnership with Alice in Chains. Ledaig - Sinclair Series Rioja Cask Finish - Whisky

That isn’t to say it’s deft in its manoeuvres. It’s a fairly evenly spread blast of the more bitter-edged fruits - grapefruit, orange pith and almost a lemon zest spritz. The finish is long enough that I’m still tasting the echos of that sooty peat, but with the ghost of a boiled sweet around the periphery. The Sinclair Series pays homage to our Founder, John Sinclair, with a number of delicious whiskies handcrafted at our distillery. This Ledaig Rioja Finish is the first release in this series. Palate: Here the peat starts to make itself know a little more, open fires with peat briquets. Red grape juice and a hint of coconut. There’s chocolate here, almond and strawberry jam. Whisky, as we know, is also storytelling, and this is as good an excuse as any to justify the choice of these casks… Tasting notesYou are responsible for all activities through your account. Christopher Coates, Editor of Whisky Magazine, said: “This year’s results are a testament to the great work that’s been done by Scotch whisky makers over the past year. It’s truly delightful to see the Scottish industry growing at a rapid pace and drinkers’ interest in Scotch whisky increasing exponentially. I’m certain this positive trend will continue and that competition in our Icons of Whisky categories will remain fierce for decades to come.” After yet another year of challenges for the whisky industry, it was time to celebrate the inventiveness of its best people and places in the Whisky Magazine Icons of Whisky awards and the innovation of its producers in the World Whiskies Awards. It follows the Icons of Whisky regional Ireland leg, the first of the 2022 awards, which took place at Dublin’s Iveagh Garden Hotel on 25th November. In the mouth it’s a lively bonfire on the beach, with touches of pepper and ginger on the browned shellfish, with slices of blood orange, tamarind, berry tart, liquorice and a few pine needles to give a soft balsamic streak. Ledaig Rioja Cask Finish - Ratings and reviews - Whiskybase

Starting at the top, lets pop this cork and give it the praise it deserves. In my view fancy corks are really understated. They are a functional feature and also make great fridge magnets when your done. Shout out to Deanston for also breaking the dull cork mould. Palate: A very pleasing mouthfeel. Buttery smooth and rich. An immediate heavenly mix of sweet BBQ smoked meats, rich forest fruit deep seeetness and Christmas spices.Provenance single cask single malts from Douglas Laing offer a taste of the hugely varied work of Scotland's whisky regions.
