Oh and due to new regulations allowing for more bottle sizes, this is also the first bottle of whiskey that I’ve bought in the US that is the world-standard size of 700 mL. Nose: The nose starts off with notes of fresh cut wood, herbal tea, agave syrup, and underripe fruit. The heat builds nicely here and provides an extra kick of spice to help balance any of the sweetness of the palate. Perhaps one of the most frustrating and confusing bottles for collectors is the black label version of the Master Distiller bottle, most commonly found in Asia.

In the event of any safety concerns or for any other information about a product please carefully read any instructions provided on the label or packaging and contact the manufacturer. Barrels are hand-selected for their characteristics of deeper color, flavor, and aroma, which deliver a darker, richer, and more oak-forward character. While many Jack Daniel’s expressions can feel very sweet and dessert like, this falls closer to the savory end of the spectrum. Hardly in need of an introduction, Jack Daniel’s exceptional sippin’ whisky is one of Tennessee’s finest exports. This bonded rye meets the the classic bottled-in-bond qualifications: at least 4-years old, 50% ABV, a single producer during a single distilling season, and be aged in a federal bonded warehouse. The 1st bottle in this series celebrated the founder and first Master Distiller, Jack Daniel, who was Master Distiller from the very beginning in 1866 until his death in 1911. The palate offers notes of caramel, oak spice, vanilla, baking spices and a hint of smoke that lingers in the finish. The nose is bright (in a good way) and livelier than the sweet, musty, more classic Jack Daniel’s profile you get in their Tennessee Bonded expression.

This is still closer to a barely legal rye rather than a 95% rye like Bulleit, so you will find a few more bourbon notes than you might expect. Bottled-in-Bond bourbons from Heaven Hill (at both the high and low end), Barton (from their 1792 and Very Old Barton labels), and Jim Beam are reliable go-tos for value-conscious bourbon drinkers looking for a guarantee of minimum age and potency. The High Angel’s Share Barrel bottle was named for the higher than normal evaporation (or angel’s share) that occurred during the aging process. To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average.Originally released for the Travel Retail market, this edition of Jack Daniel's Tennessee Whiskey is bottled at 100 proof, adhering to the rules sets as part of the Bottled in Bond Act, which was passed all the way back in 1897. Enjoy a wonderful limited edition that has matured for at least 4 years, with an alcohol content of 50% Vol. Thus, the arrival of a new Bottled-in-Bond expression from an established distillery with generally good vibes ought to be cheered by the American whiskey drinking public… that is, if it is any good. This lot is being sold by either; 1) a non-UK seller or 2) a VAT Registered Business, and is therefore subject to VAT. Surprisingly sweet and enjoyable mellow, vanilla and brown sugar take centre stage with just a touch of charcoal.

Commemorating the 150th Anniversary of the Distillery’s registration in 1866, this specially etched 80 proof Gentleman Jack bottle was released in 2016.Information and statements about products are not intended to be used to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease or health condition. It was to commemorate one of the Distillery’s oldest and most famed barrelhouses, a 7-story building aptly named “Barrelhouse 1,” that the first of these bottles was released. There’s the hallmark Jack Daniel’s banana note (in the form of banana cream pie), but also some very ripe Bing cherry notes. Both bottles are Bottled-In-Bond and both feature the embossing replica design of the 1895 Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Whiskey bottle. I didn't have high expectations, but I am quite experienced with high proof bourbons to pass my judgement.

Jack Daniel's Bonded is a Bottled-in-Bond whiskey, meaning that it was distilled by a single distiller, during a single season, matured in a government bonded warehouse for at least four years and bottled at 100 proof. Although it is only sold at select locations, this bottle was advertised as a “permanent line extension in the Jack Daniel’s Family of Brands. The Single Barrel expressions – particularly the Barrel Proof Single Barrel bottling – remain widely available and offer very strong value for the money. However, you can also accept or reject further cookies at any time or specify which of these cookies you would like to agree to. Here we have one of two new releases for 2022 from Jack Daniel's, this is their new premium release 'Bonded'.Additional information about this bottle will be provided in Volume III of the Jack Daniel’s Bottle Collector’s Guide which has an anticipated release in 2024. It is the product of one distilling season at one distillery (DSP-TENN-1), and is matured for at least four years (this bottle carries no age statement). There is no denying the value for money compared to Scotch and I’ll certainly try to find some more high end Jack Daniels on my travels. I am surprised at how much more I enjoy this bonded rye expression over the Tennessee whiskey expression.
